Monday 8th December
On Sunday 6th December I had a small private exhibition at my parents home in the country side to sell the originals of the illustrations I painted for Michel Roux Jr’s, ‘The French Kitchen’ which was published earlier this year.
My very talented Mum & her side kick Sarah Ede beautifully framed yet another show for me. This time seeing non-uniform rustic style frames house the Oysters to the Artichoke. I went home late Thursday evening with boxes of cards to pack, Limited Edition Prints to cut and wrap, Tea-Towels to fold. My best friend Becca joined the female strong brigade to help hang the pictures the following Friday and set up ‘shop’. I even got my Dad working on Saturday evening packaging cards – only he was more of a hindrance than a help – he packed over x50 Lobster cards into their envelopes instead of into the cello bag with envelope stacked behind card. Many hands did not make light work in this case.
Sunday saw a busy & bustling few hours, Wine & Elderflower fizz flowed, honey’n’mustard sausages got devoured & Tea-Towels were flying off my rustic door Table top shop! There are still some originals left, which I shall be photographing this week and getting them up in my shop soon!
Thanks to all who came down and helped out in making it such a successful show.
